ABBOTTABAD: The women wing of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has finally made it to Kohistan district where women were usually barred from casting vote in elections.
PPP MPA Naeema Nisar in capacity of divisional president of the PPP women wing for Hazara announced formation of the unit in Kohistan here Sunday.
The provincial women wing of PPP under Asma Alamgir had become active in the Hazara by first choosing a team for reorganising the party all over the province and nominating Naeema Nisar to head the Hazara chapter. Naeema credited the PPP Kohistan leaders including Zar Buland Khan, Turat Malik, Mansoor Khan, Jamil Khan, Fazal Wadood, Lal Mian and Janan for organising the women wing in the district.
The new office-bearers nominated for Kohistan included Shash Begum as president, Johigra Bibi senior vice-president, Malkia Bibi and Zeba Bibi vice-presidents, Ajab Bibi general secretary, Sedad Bibi deputy general secretary, Gul Bahar Bibi information secretary, Mehar Nigari office secretary, Begum Jan finance secretary and Shamo Bibi as secretary coordination.
