PPP always fights for democracy: Naeema Nisar

ABBOTTABAD : Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was the only party which had always fought for democracy with the core objectives of safeguarding the federation and resolving the problems of masses, said Naeema Nisar PPP's Member Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly while talking on Friday. She said the PPP's history was full of such examples which showed that whenever the party came into power it adopted a federal agenda to ensure good governance in the country. Naeema Nisar said under the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari, the party, for the first, had formed coalition governments in center as well as provinces to have a unified form of governance. She further said Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan, 7th NFC and Gilgit-Baltistan Empowerment and Self-Governance Ordinance and the government's successful policies on terrorism and militancy were some of the major achievements of the government so far. "Instead of acknowledging these achievements, PML (N) has started a vicious campaign against the government and state institutions including Army and intelligence agencies," she added. She went on to say that President Zardari was the symbol of federation who had always followed the policy of reconciliation. The country was playing the role of a front-line state in the war against terrorism and the day was not far when the PPP-led government would root out this menace once and for all, she concluded.
